Mindfulness Meditation

Meditation is a life giving practice that has been used for thousands of years in both the East and West. It is a wonderful compliment to psychotherapy. Meditation takes many forms and has diverse uses. It is helpful in psychotherapy as a way of developing a nonjudgmental witness within the mind that observes thoughts, images, feelings, expectations and beliefs without excessively reacting to them, driving them away or automatically and unconsciously being taken over by them. It provides a way of gaining insight into one self. It can also be used to develop spiritual practices in the context of a variety of religions and belief systems.
